Fingerstyle Guitar — Week 1 — Day 3

Day 3 — Chord change (C ↔ G7)
Builds on: Day 1 (arpeggio + clean C). New: G7, and the thumb reaches to S-6 for G7’s root.
Good for: surviving a real change without the right hand faltering — a bigger jump than Day 1 or 2 (new bass string, fuller shape).

C → G7: thumb jumps S-5 → S-6; L-3 moves to S-6 (fret 3); L-1 moves to S-1 (fret 1). Two fingers; everything else open or lifted.
- Warmup — 2 min
- Establish (3 min): G7 alone — clean shape, thumb on S-6 (root). The strech might feel uncomfotable. Take rests if needed. Total playing time should be 3 minutes.
- Change slow (3 min): C → G7, right-hand pattern identical, no gap at the switch. Keep tempo (~60 bpm) and do variation on chord change frequency (1, 2 or 4 bars).
- Integrate (3 min): rotate C – Am – G7, or C ↔ G7 in time (That’s I – VI – V7 or I ↔ V7 for future reference).
- Cooldown (3 min): loop the change musically, try both open and rest strokes.
