Fingerstyle Guitar — Week 1 — Day 1
2026-07-13 ma
Daily warmup (same every day)
Open strings, no left hand. Free stroke, flesh pad, slow and dead even (~2 min).
- p (thumb) → S-5 (A)
- i (index) → S-3 (G)
- m (middle) → S-2 (B)
- a (ring) → S-1 (high E)

Builds on: nothing — this is the floor (hold the guitar, know p/i/m/a).
Good for: right-hand finger independence and even tone/volume across all four fingers, with minimal motion. Every arpeggio in this program sits on top of this.
Thumb sits on S-5 — its real home for the arpeggios.
Day 1 — Groove the arpeggio (C · Am · A)
Builds on: the daily warmup; the three shapes below.
Good for: automating the p-i-m-a right-hand motion (free stroke, even tone) while the left hand cycles related shapes — you build the core pattern and get chord-change reps for free.
Right hand identical throughout. ~60 bpm, one note per beat.
- Tune (~1 min)
- Warmup ~ 2 min
- Establish (3 min): C only — groove even volume, minimal motion
- Vary (3 min): Am ↔ A every 4 bars — slide the index, hear minor→major
- Integrate (3 min): free-rotate C – Am – A, new chord every 4 bars, right hand unbroken — ease off, listen
